1、 Thermal printing principle

When the heating element comes into contact with the thermal paper, the thermal coating on the paper undergoes a chemical reaction under the action of heat, forming a black or other colored image on the paper.
2. Advantages:
Fast printing speed: Thermal printing does not require the use of ink or ribbon, so the printing speed is fast.

2、 Principle of heat transfer printing
Thermal transfer printing is an indirect printing technology that transfers ink onto labels or paper by heating a carbon ribbon (or ribbon). Carbon ribbon is usually made of wax, resin, or mixed base materials, which melt and transfer onto the printing medium when heated.
1. Printing process: The heating element of the print head heats up according to the shape of the image or text to be printed, melting the ink on the carbon ribbon and transferring it to the label or paper. The carbon ribbon will continuously move during the printing process to ensure even transfer of ink onto the printing medium.
2. Advantages:
Strong durability: The images printed by heat transfer printing have good scratch resistance, high temperature resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, making them suitable for use in harsh environments.
High printing quality: Heat transfer printing can provide high-resolution printing effects, suitable for printing barcodes, QR codes, and high-quality text.
Wide applicability: Heat transfer printing is suitable for labels made of various materials, such as paper, synthetic paper, PET, PVC, etc.
3. Disadvantages:
High cost: Thermal transfer printing requires the use of carbon tape, which increases printing costs.
Slow printing speed: Due to the need to heat the carbon ribbon and transfer ink, thermal transfer printing is usually slower than thermal printing.
High maintenance requirements: The structure of heat transfer printers is relatively complex and requires regular maintenance and replacement of carbon ribbons.
